I've been shopping for a New Holland TC33D, 4wd, Weighted industrial tires, 7308 Loader with 61"(could be 60"!), folding roll bar. the prices I've received so far have ranged from $18,100 to $18,900 (delivered within 60 mile radius). Does the low price sound fair? Or should I be asking them to sharpen their pencils a little more! Has anyone got any information regarding the best time of year to make the best deal?

I bought a TC33D , 7308 loader w/ heavy duty bucket, 60" brush hog and 60" box blade for $18,000. My dealer also included the 50 hour service and a bolt on cutting blade for the FEL. I'd be glad to give you his address (Oklahoma City) and phone number if you e-mail me direct. Bye the way, I now have approx. 80 hours on it and it has done everything I expected it would. Only problem was a battery leak that required me to repaint the support brackets. ....

I have a TC33D that I bought in the Spring of 2000. I just recently cleaned up the front where my battery spilled as well. I wonder if they are using cheap batteries. Did you get another battery? I was thinking of getting a sealed one. ....

I believe I heard elsewhere that some of the batteries were overfilled. When my battery needs replacing I will probably purchase a sealed Gel Cell type. In the meantime I only have enough fluid in the battery to cover the plates. I also placed a peace of rubber mat under the battery to absorb some of the shock and sprayed terminal protector, which can be purchased at your local auto parts store, on the posts and surrounding area. ....

There's some very good information about batteries in the archives--mostly courtesy of Peters. In substituting an automotive battery in the usually smaller tractor battery compartment, it's a good idea to check the cold cranking amps rating of the battery. Some automotive type maintenance free batteries in 'tractor size' don't have enough CCA's for tractor diesel engines. Most repair manuals should have a CCA spec for the starter motor. ....
